Online Stenography Program
Our Online Court Reporting Program closely mirrors the Nighttime Resident Program. Course numbers and descriptions are the same. The Online Program requires five hours in a virtual classroom each week between 5:30pm and 10:30pm. Schedules vary by semester.
Approximate program length is 48 months, based on self-paced student average. This program will provide the students with the skills necessary to pursue a career path including as an official court reporter, a freelance reporter or a steno interpreter. Upon completion of this program, the student will receive his or her certification.

Requirements for Admission into the Online Court Reporting Program
- You must live more than 50 miles from the nearest Stenotype Institute Campus* (see: Locations)
- You must meet with an admissions representative via phone conference prior to acceptance
- You must have access to high-speed internet
- You must contact your high school or institution where you obtained your GED and request that an official, unopened transcript be mailed to us
*Students within a 50 mile radius with an extenuating circumstance which may qualify them for the online program (such as a disability, extreme work schedule, etc.) may apply online and discuss their circumstance with an admissions representative during the phone interview.
